2019 is all about the Bold, Colourful, and Shiny. And, we at Mellow, have three of the biggest makeup trends of 2019 for you to master at home.
80’s Colour Pop Eyeshadow
2018 had us living for neutrals, and while they are still very much loved, it’s time for a shake-up. Colour is back and ready to break free from your makeup bag.
While last year was all about the ’90s, this year we’re winding the clock back to the colourful ‘80’s baby. Colour popping’ eyeshadow should, if it’s not already, be all over your radar. You’ll be seeing lots of pastels, and vivid colours paired with either little or no eyeliner. Mint Green, Pastel Pinks and Rich Blues are some of the most popular colours you’ll be spying on the red carpet this year.
This trend is all about creating a soft, yet dramatic, bold eye. Remember colour can speak volumes.

You could even take this trend a step further by clashing two different eyeshadow colours, one on your lid and one on your waterline.
There are so many combos to experiment with! For example, clash the shade Brick on your upper lid with the shade Merlot from our Sinopia Palette on your lower waterline.
No Makeup Makeup
No makeup, makeup is all about creating the illusion of minimal effort with maximum result. It’s all about a flushed cheek, neutral eye, textured brows, and a nude lip.
While the bronzed glow of 2018 was huge, this year is all about creating naturally flushed cheeks with soft pink hues. For this, add a touch of our Mellow Powder Blush in the shade pink to the apple of your cheeks and gently sweep along your cheekbone.
For a neutral eye try the shade Tiger Eye for your lid from our Treasure Chest Palette with the Shade Pecan from our Sinopia Palette for the Brow Bone. You can also add the shade Nudie to your crease if you want to create a little more depth (also from the Sinopia Palette).
For a naturally textured Brow, we suggest using our Mellow Brow Definer to brush out and shape and fill your brows it (check out our Brow Code on how to achieve the perfect Brow).
Finally, use our Creamy Matte Lipstick in the shade Posh over your lips to finish the look.

Goldie Gold Glitter
We’re seeing through a haze of glitter and gold and we’re living for it. There is nothing more glamorous in 2019 then an old Hollywood glam gold glitter eye. Gold is an amazing shade to dabble in that can look from subtle to glam in a matter of seconds.
And, our Mellow Treasure Chest Eyeshadow Palette has all the shades of golds you’ll ever need.
If you’re hesitant to dive into the glitter, you can always take a softer approach by using our shade Tiger Eye as a base colour for the lid of your eye and then incorporate the Goldie shade Amber in the corner and crease of your eye. Hold off on the eyeliner and pop a dash of mascara on and you have the perfect wearable day eye look.
For the more daring, be prepared, it’s about to get shimmery around here. For the crease, we recommended the using the shade Smoked Topaz as a base for your eyelid, Rose Gold for your crease and waterline, and finally, Topaz for the inner corners of the eyes. Finish this off with a smoked-out wing (try our Gel Eyeliner) and you’ll be turning heads wherever you go.
